Abundant hypocrisy (about Trump)
Guest column

It’s only been a few weeks since President Trump took office, but the sheer volume of hate and hypocrisy from the left has been off the charts.

The ignorance of our election process – in particular the Electoral College – and the hysteria of claiming the Russians hacked voting booths, has bordered on the absurd, thanks to misleading information from the mainstream media (MSM). The hypocrisy has run the gambit and is inclusive of all liberal bastions over the past 30 years, politicians, MSM, Hollywood and public education.

The left is appalled at Trump’s executive order of a 90-day travel suspension from seven countries that support radical Islamic terrorism that threatens U.S. security. Though not the first time a travel suspension or ban has been issued in the name of the U.S. security, the Democrat’s response would make it appear so.

Facts are facts: In 1952 the Democrat-controlled Senate and House voted to enact the Immigration and Nationality Act (aka McCarron-Walter Act). The act governs primarily immigration to and citizenship in the United States. It allowed the government to deport immigrants or naturalized citizens engaged in subversive activities and also allowed the barring of suspected subversives from entering the country.

In 1980 Democratic President Jimmy Carter banned all Iranian refugees from entry into the U.S. as well as invalidating all Iranian visas with no reissue or new issue of visas allowed. This ban went into effect immediately. President Bill Clinton’s 1995 State of the Union address included his intent to “crack down” on illegals. He secured the borders, hired additional border patrol agents, deported criminal aliens, and barred aliens from receiving welfare benefits. In 2011 President Barack Obama blocked all Iraqi refugees from entering the U.S. for six months. Democrats supported each and every one of these immigration laws and bans. However, now they act as though they have never supported this type of presidential action in the past.

Recently MSM headlines screamed “Trump bans Muslims” in yet another false narrative. This is a 90-day travel suspension that applies to only seven nations with a high degree of terror activity. Citizens of 46 other Muslim-based nations can travel here freely. The fact that Muslims make up the vast populations of the affected nations does not mean Trump’s order is aimed at Muslims. A ban on Italians would not mean a ban on Roman Catholics. Even Chuck Todd, one of the MSM’s front men against President Trump throughout the election, admitted in an interview that the MSM was dishonest in its election coverage. He admitted the MSM covered up the fact that Hillary Clinton was highly unpopular in the heartland and tried to control the message and the election by misrepresenting this information.

The biggest hypocrisy is in the public school systems. Several school districts include in their curriculum the teaching of the 12 Pillars of the Muslim religion, but at the same time forbid Christmas carols, Christmas plays, and one forced the removal of a Charlie Brown Christmas cartoon from inside the school because of its religious overtones and the fear of offending non-Christians. Where’s the diversity?

The election has proven that the American people have seen through the smoke screens and hypocrisy of the politicians and the MSM. However, this will be an ongoing battle that will require due diligence and dedication. Understanding how the MSM will use false optics, such as videos of George Soros-backed protests and fake news reports and headlines to control messaging. Understanding politicians, they are more concerned with personal power and wealth than representing their constituents and upholding the Constitution.

Parents need to stay involved with their children’s education and be aware of what is being taught in the classroom. Be prepared to fight for a proper and honest curriculum with local school boards. Demand that the curriculum is open for review, by both parents and tax payers.

To Trump, I say this will be a long, hard process but the fight has already started. Stay the course. Do not falter.
