Fred George Venus, 83, of Chatham, passed away on March 23, 2017 after a lengthy set of illnesses. He was born on Jan. 1, 1934 in Cleveland.
Fred married Yvonne C. Gandolf on Feb. 2, 1963. He served in the Unites States Air Force as a training instructor, and later retired from the United States Postal Service. Outside of work, Fred enjoyed fishing, woodworking, listening to rock and roll music, dancing and tinkering with his various cars, tractors and boat. Fred was an avid fan of Cleveland sports, especially the Cavs. He will be best remembered for his smile that could light up any room.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Debbie (Tom) Fenrich of Litchfield; daughter-in-law, Tina Venus of Chatham; brother, Jim (Lavon) Venus of Chatham; and granddaughter, Olivia (Jacob) Shultz of Haymarket, Va.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dion in 2015; and his wife, Yvonne in 1998.
Interment will be held in Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley at a later date.
