Rancho BEERnardo Festival set for Oct. 22

The annual Rancho BEERnardo Festival is returning Oct. 22 to Rancho Bernardo’s Webb Park.

The afternoon craft beer festival is Rancho Bernardo Sunrise Rotary Club’s only annual fundraiser, with more than $100,000 expected to be raised to support local and international community projects, said club President Laura Mello.

Participants at the festival can sample a wide assortment of beers, wines and hard ciders in an outdoor setting with entertainment.

The beer and wine tastings will come from Abnormal Beer Co., AleSmith Brewing Co., Barrel Riot Winery, Bastian’s Vineyards, Bear Republic Brewing Co., Cerveceria Insurgente, Cerveza Loba, Cerveza XTECA, Eppig Brewing, Karl Strauss Brewing Co., Koi Zen Cellars, Lake Arrowhead Brewery, Mostra Coffee, Mujeres Brew House, North Park Beer Co., Pizza Port Brewing Co., Resident Brewing, Second Chance Beer Co., Seek Beer Co., Societe Brewing Co., SouthNorte Beer Co., TapRoom Beer Co., Turquoise Barn Cider, Thr3e Punk Ales Brewing Co. and Wild Barrel Brewing Co.

The event’s presenting sponsors are AleSmith Brewing and Second Change Beer.

General admission tickets are $65 each. They include unlimited 2-ounce pours of beer and wine, free parking, a festival glass to keep and music from 2 to 5 p.m.

The VIP admission ticket for $90 lets people in an hour earlier, starting at 1 p.m. They get exclusive access to a VIP area, preferred parking, complimentary food along with the unlimited beer and wine samples, and a souvenir glass.

For those not planning on consuming alcohol, the “designated driver” admission ticket is $10. For those without a VIP ticket, food will be available for purchase.

This is a 21-and-older event. No children or pets will be admitted.
