Mary Ann Walker, 84, passed away peacefully at her home March 20, 2017.
She was surrounded by her loving family throughout her brief battle with cancer. She was born April 27, 1932 to Elmer and Mary Elizabeth Bond in Akron.
She and her husband raised their family while living in Norton and currently reside in Wadsworth.
She is survived by Rondal Walker, the love of her life and her devoted husband of 64 years. The two of them were an example to all for how a married couple should love unconditionally, cherish all the moments life has to offer, and support family and friends knowing that those relationships are what brings meaning to life. She is also survived by her six children: Lance (Cheryl) Walker, Ronda (Mark) DeOrio, Terry (Terry) Warner, Rondal (Karen) Walker, Richard (Robin) Walker and Robert (Joyce) Walker. She loved special moments with her 18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren as she became their No. 1 fan, their unwavering support and their smile and hug throughout the day.
She spent 46 years serving others as a waitress for the Milich family. While at Milich’s Village Inn, each of her “regulars” became an important part of her life. She was a dedicated waitress until retiring at the age of 83.
Anyone who knew Mary Ann knew that she loved her family and cherished time spent visiting with others. She always had a teapot ready and took the time to make everyone feel like they were the most important person in her world. She loved to travel and often bragged about the Walker family vacation that took place each year, for 50 years, at Myrtle Beach. She will always be remembered for her ability to command a dance floor because no one loved to dance more than Mary Ann.
