NORTON – For many business owners, researching insurance plans for their employees and for their company can be frustrating and confusing.
But, there's another option. Leave it to the experts!
The folks at Advanced Insurance Designs, Inc. can use their vast knowledge and expertise to simplify the process and help employers find the best plan for their employees and their businesses.
Brothers Jeff and Zig Novak said the focus at AIDI is to do what is best for the client.
“For us we are not just trying to sell something,” Jeff said. “What we want to do is evaluate the situation and make sure we are helping people to get an insurance policy that fits best them. It’s not just about getting a plan in place, but also making sure that our clients understand what they have.”
While AIDI works mostly with businesses, helping them to develop employee benefit packages and insurance plans for their business, they also work with individuals looking for health care plans or home and auto insurance.
AIDI can work with the company to build a package that includes health insurance, life insurance, dental, vision and short- and long-term disability plans. There are members of the AIDI staff that specialize in different facets of insurance, so clients can be assured they are talking with someone who is very knowledgeable.
“We are a full-service agency,” Zig said. “Pretty much anything that has to do with insurance we have access to.”
“We go in and talk to the employer or someone in the HR department and evaluate what they have in place right now,” Jeff said. “Then we come back and look at other options to compare them and bring them back to the table. Sometimes the plan they have already in place is what is best for them, but because we work with so many different carriers we are often able to find something that fits them better.”
AIDI works with a multitude of insurance carriers including Anthem, Medical Mutual and Summa Care, Zig said.
“We can offer all kinds of carriers, and with our expertise we can help determine which carrier is best for specific markets or situations,” he said.
Jeff explained that AIDI pays attention to industry trends and added that the world of insurance can be cyclical.
“A carrier might be on the top right now and maybe a year or two down the road take a different view point and then drop down as other carriers rise to the top,” he said. “That is why it is good to have your policy looked at every couple of years and we can do that for our clients. We can research and look at a number of different options instead of the clients having to do that themselves.”
Zig added that the folks at AIDI will get to know the client’s needs to make sure they are offering a plan that fits well for them. For instance, if one carrier doesn’t have Cleveland Clinic in its network, it may not be right for many employees.
Help with changing times
With many changes in healthcare over the last couple of years, the AIDI has worked hard to cut through the red tape for clients.
“With a new president being elected, it appears there are going to be major changes to the healthcare system again,” Jeff said. “We are preparing our team and look forward to advising our clients, community and business owners in need of assistance.”
Jeff said AIDI also sends out emails from time to time regarding healthcare updates. He said anyone can join their mailing list by going to www.aidiconnect.com under “contact us.”
Because they are constantly evaluating carriers, Zig said AIDI can often offer solutions many employers or individuals aren’t aware of. For example, small group self-funded medical plans are often a better alternative to the ACA for many employers.
“We are able to bring unique products to the table business owners may not have otherwise seen,” he said.
Zig said AIDI can also help with Medicare, which can be very confusing to clients.
“My friend and pastor who was retiring signed up for Medicare and was getting inundated with so much advertising,” Zig said. “I can take all that information and simplify the process showing him his options in layman’s terms. Typically I will go through and find a small number of options that work best to recommend.”
“We have had people come in with a big grocery bag full of advertisements and information they received in the mail and put in on the table and say ‘What do I do with all of this,” Jeff said. “Zig does a good job of easing that pain and simplifying everything. We have received a lot of feedback and appreciation from people to get them to a better understanding and comfort level with Medicare.”
A family tradition
The Novaks’ father, Zigmond, founded AIDI 40 years ago. The business was located in Wadsworth for the first 35 years and then relocated to 2181 Wadsworth Road in Norton after acquiring and combining with another agency five years ago.
“Since we are celebrating 40 years of this family-owned business this year, we are looking to do a yearlong celebration,” Jeff said.
In January, AIditionDI kicked off the celebration with a giveaway of floor seats to a Cleveland Cavaliers game and they are planning on more events throughout the year. Information on upcoming events will be available on www.aidiconnect.com and Facebook page.
