BRUNSWICK — Stark Enterprises announced this week that the new retail center it plans to build on the north side of Center Road is now 100 percent leased.
“As of this week, we have all tenant spaces leased and we believe the public will be very excited about the businesses we plan to bring to Brunswick,” said Hank Rapport, vice president of operations for Stark Enterprises.
The 12,905-square-foot plaza, to be named North Park Plaza, is expected to open in early fall 2017. The center will not only feature a new Starbucks coffee shop with a patio and a drive-through, but it will also be home to a new Pizza Fire franchise, Hot Heads Burritos, Dental One, Sprint and Supercuts.
North Park Plaza, which was approved by the city’s Planning Commission back in February, will be located at 3459 Center Road, at the site of the former Center Road FirstMerit Bank. The developer, Stark Enterprises, is not only the developer of the Crocker Park retail center in Westlake, but several other prominent retail centers in the greater Cleveland area including the Shops of Fairlawn and Rosemont Commons.
The Planning Commission worked closely with the developer to make sure the new shopping center reflected the city’s corridor plan. Accordingly, the developer said the design plans for the center pay particular attention to landscape and hardscape aesthetics apparent in other Stark Properties, including Crocker Park.
“Our goal with any project is to create a destination that delivers a positive and memorable experience to our guests, said Rebecca Hegyes, director of development at Stark Enterprises. “At North Park Plaza, this will be achieved by adding special touches to our grounds and infrastructure.”
Hegyes said the plaza’s building facades will consist of a mixture of brick and metal materials and landscape plans will create a central plaza complete with a fountain, lush foliage, flower planter, benches and bicycle racks.
“We appreciate the consideration the developer has given to the property in terms of pedestrians and bicyclists,” Jeffrey Arona, vice-chair of the city’s planning commission, said earlier this year.
Representatives for Stark Enterprises reappeared before the Planning Commission this past week, at which time revised detailed site plans calling for three revisions to the parking lot plans, were unanimously approved for the site.
With the commission’s approval, crews are expected to break ground on the project in early December with plans for tenants to move into the facility in August 2017.
