Police find two overdoses in vehicle
Wadsworth Police Department

June 5 – Police officers responded to a parking lot in the 800 block of High Street shortly before 8 p.m. in response to a report of two people slumped over inside a vehicle. Officers reported finding a 20-year-old female and a 23-year-old male who appeared to be experiencing a drug overdose. Narcan was administered and both individuals were transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment.

Wadsworth Police Department

June 6 – Police officers made a traffic stop on a vehicle on Smokerise Drive at approximately 1:45 a.m. after learning that the owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license. Police officers reported finding suspected drugs inside the vehicle. Charges are pending based on results from BCI.

June 5 – Police officers responded to a private party accident in the 1000 block of High Street shortly before 2 p.m. Following an investigation one of the drivers, a 48-year-old Patrick John Drive man, was arrested and charged with OVI.

June 5 – A resident went to the police station to report the theft of his license plate when his vehicle was parked at a Williams Reserve Boulevard business. There are no suspects at this time.

June 4 – Police officers responded to a gas station in the 900 block of High Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. in reference to a report of an unsafe vehicle. During an investigation, a 49-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with OVI.

June 4 – Police officers responded to a South Kaser Drive home at approximately 3 a.m. in response to a report of a woman who had arrived home under the influence of alcohol and had fallen asleep in her vehicle while it was closed and locked in a single car garage. Officers made forced entry and got the woman out of the vehicle and away from vehicle fumes. After being checked out by EMS, the woman, 31, was taken into custody for having physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. Officers reported her BAC was .148.

June 4 – Police officers responded to the 200 block of West Good Avenue at approximately 9:40 p.m. in reference to a report of a disorderly disturbance. The incident is under investigation.

June 3 – Police officers and EMS were dispatched to a motel in the 800 block of High Street in reference to a report of a drug overdose. The individual was treated with Narcan and eventually became responsive. The man refused transport to the hospital and charges are pending further investigation.

June 3 – Police officers responded to a report of a reckless driver on Interstate 76 at approximately 6:30 p.m. The vehicle was eventually located and stopped on Highland Avenue. The 47-year-old female driver appeared to be impaired, so police took her into custody. Once at the police station, a drug recognition expert performed additional tests and it was determined the woman may have been experiencing a medical issue. She was transported to the hospital for treatment.

June 3 – Police officers stopped a vehicle on state Route 57 for speeding at about 12:15 a.m. During the traffic stop, police officers discovered that the driver, an 18-year-old Akron woman, had a suspended license. Officers also reported that she was in possession of drugs and alcohol. Officers seized the illegal items and issued her summons for underage possession of alcohol and possession of marijuana.

Rittman Police Department

June 3 – An officer pulled a car over on state Route 57 for speed and discovered the driver had a suspended license. The officer also allegedly smelled marijuana. On a search, the officer reportedly found a marijuana pipe, a grinder and a scale. One of the passengers, a 16-year-old Wadsworth boy, allegedly claimed ownership and was cited. Another passenger, a 16-year-old Wadsworth girl, reportedly had a marijuana pipe in her purse. She was also cited.

June 3 – An officer pulled a vehicle over on Main Street for not staying in the lane and discovered the driver, a 27-year-old Akron woman, had a suspended license and the vehicle was reported stolen in Akron. She was arrested for felony receiving stolen property. A 33-year-old man who was a passenger had an outstanding traffic warrant out of Akron but they declined to pick him up.

June 1 – A 65-year-old Rittman man faces theft of service charges for allegedly dumping wood and paneling from a home remodeling job into a dumpster at Fritz Park.

May 30 – Officers went to a Driftwood Avenue address for a suspected drug overdose. A 22-year-old man was unconscious on the bed and was revived with naloxone. EMS took him to the hospital and he was cited for disorderly conduct.

Doylestown Police Department

June 3 – Police went to a Park Drive address on a noise complaint and allegedly smelled marijuana. The resident turned over some pot and paraphernalia and was cited accordingly.

June 2 – A resident walked in to report someone had tried to open a bank account in his name.

June 1 – Police went to a Howard Street address where a man allegedly refused to leave. He made arrangements for a place to stay and officers provided a ride.

June 1 – A man said he was walking to his car in the library parking lot and was bitten by a dog in the next car. The dog’s owner was cited.

May 31 – Officers were able to find the owner of some horses loose on Calaboone Road.

May 30 – An officer went with an EMS crew on a medical call and allegedly saw marijuana paraphernalia in plain view. The patient was cited.

May 29 – Police got several calls of two huskies running loose in town and one had allegedly injured a caged rabbit. The dogs’ owner was cited for dog at large.

Creston Police Department

May 30 – An officer pulled a vehicle over and cited a passenger for possession of marijuana.

May 30 – A 2-year-old girl wandered away from a South Main Street address. She was found a short time later by a neighbor.

May 29 – Police got a call about a road rage incident on South Main Street. They say evidence shows a vehicle left a McIlvaine Drive address recklessly, pulled onto South Main Street, drove left of center and ran another vehicle off the road.
