Wakili.sha Initiative recently held an event in Nairobi to celebrate the annual Day of the African Child. Wakili.sha Initiative is a non-profit organisation that aimed at realising access to justice for children in conflict with the law through free legal representation, rehabilitative justice programmes and advocacy. This year’s theme as set by the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child was “The Rights of the Child in the Digital Environment”. For Wakili.sha Initiative the celebration of the day was under the theme “Child Justice in the Digital Environment” where stakeholders from the child justice system were brought together including judicial officers, children officers, advocates, correctional services officers, child-focused civil society organisations, academia, government agencies, technology experts, and media practitioners.

Among the present were Wakili.sha Initiative founder and CEO Elizabeth Njambi and Milimani Law Courts Principal Magistrate Jackie Kibosia.
