Calling all Taylor Swift fans - the job of a lifetime is on offer.
US newspaper publishing giant Gannett has announced its search for the “ultimate Swifty” to become its official “Taylor Swift reporter”, covering the singer’s every move during her globetrotting musical adventures, after unprecedented demand from readers for more Taylor Swift content.
The role will require the journalist to be experienced, video-forward”, with a knack for capturing the musical and cultural essence of Swift on a variety of platforms for an audience with an insatiable appetite for all things related to the songstress.
But it’s not all glitz and glamour.
The reporter will need to differentiate between facts and fan theories, keep track of Swift’s growing influence, understand the ins and outs of her fanbase and assess her impact in the music and business arenas - all for Gannett’s more than 100 daily US newspapers, including USA Today.
The singer cleaned up at the 2023 MTV Awards yesterday, taking home Best Pop music video and Best Song for “Anti-Hero”, as well as Video of the Year for the second year in a row.
“I love making pop music, I love making pop music videos, I also love making country,” the Grammy winner told the crowd at New Jersey’s Prudential Center as she accepted her second award. “I love slinking around different genres, and the only reason I’m allowed to do that is because you, the fans, gave me the opportunity to do this.” Swift was nominated in 11 categories at the awards.
