In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, the SOTP Artist Series brings Paddy Homan, one of Ireland’s foremost traditional Irish tenors from County Cork, Ireland, and his group The Noble Call for a concert on Friday, March 11. It will begin at 7 p.m.at Shepherd of the Prairie Lutheran Church, 10805 Main St. in Huntley.

Admission to the live performance is free, though donations are gratefully accepted. Bring the family to experience this lively celebration of traditional Irish music and song.

Paddy Homan and The Noble Call offer an evening of traditional Irish entertainment. The Noble Call derives its origins from the age-old Irish tradition of “calling” on invited guests to share their favorite song, tune, story, dance.

Homan adds a layer of warmth and familiarity to his performances, bringing the audience not just closer to the music, but welcomes them into a unique Irish experience. His quick-witted Cork humor and spontaneity has been seen on Chicago’s PBS Channel 11-TV and also nationally on PBS with his “I Am Ireland” show.

Joining Homan on stage are a highly gifted group of superior traditional Irish musicians: Larry Nugent, Brenden Bulger, Patsy O’Brien and Jimmy Keane.

Nugent has appeared at major Irish festivals in Ireland, North America, and Europe. Bulger was the first Boston-born musician to win an All-Ireland fiddle championship. O’Brien is an award-winning songwriter and much sought-after guitarist, renowned for his ability to meld songwriting and guitar styles seamlessly. Keane is recognized as the best at his instrument, a renowned “maestro” on the piano accordion.

The SOTP Artist Series is a community outreach initiative sponsored by the church.
