I WRITE in reference to two excellent columns in the JEP on 19 August: one from Sir Mark Boleat and the other from Ted Vibert. So many facts and common sense. More notice should be taken by the younger Island generation, who are the ones who are going to pay for the next 50 or more years.
It does not concern me at my age, but I do worry for my kids and grandchildren being lumbered with bills for pie-in-thesky impractical wishes of a few to the detriment of many.
In my lifetime, I have traveled many thousands of miles and lived in various countries while serving in the RAF. I have always been interested in the politics of these countries and have taken notice of the various examples of corruption within their governments and leaders and, in my opinion, the biggest scams in the past 30 years have been to do with climate change.
I have never been in favour of what the British government has had to offer, but I am pleased to see at last, together with other like-thinking countries, they are having another look at all this green and net-zero impractical, expensive nonsense. Jersey should wake up, ignore the well-meaning but misguided woke Reform Party and do what’s best for the majority of the Island.
