WINDFARM in Jersey? I really despair, and can only assume a shadow government is pushing the windfarm lunacy.
Clearly those who have been brainwashed about climate change have likewise been conned into believing wind farms are an alternative to fossil fuel. One only has to look at Germany to see how that worked out. Their cost of electricity escalated to become the most expensive in Europe (windfarm electricity is incredibly expensive) and, because wind is variable, their constant blackouts and electricity rationing forced them to use Russian gas – and build new coal-fired power stations.
And all the while 100% conventional back-up is required 24/7 (for when the wind doesn’t blow). I doubt La Collette could cope now, never mind later as we phase out fossil energy. Soon we’ll be looking at electricity outages, as well as gas ones.
The suggestion a windfarm could supply three times Jersey’s needs is misinformed nonsense. And what about the environmental damage they cause – slaughtering birds and blighting the land/seascape.
Not to mention their huge environmental footprint – lots of concrete, fibreglass (from oil) construction, short lifespan and unrecyclable. Madness.
