Effective communication is vital in any organization. More often than not, it is the key to success in developing, maintaining, and strengthening both internal and external relationships. As a district, we continue to look for efficient and meaningful ways to communicate and provide updates to many different groups in our community. If you have a student(s) in one of our schools, we hope that information and news is readily available, and contributes to your role as a parent, and as one of the main stakeholders in our district. For those community members who do not have direct ties to our district (i.e. students in our schools), we have been developing ways for you to stay informed of the happenings in our district.

Last month residents and businesses of Strongsville received the first district-wide mailing in several years. The 2016-17 Strongsville City Schools Quality Profile is an overview of our school district and the various ways, both inside and outside of the classroom, we are contributing to the growth and development of our students. The Quality Profile is meant to go beyond the State Report Card and highlight items not necessarily measured by those scores.

We recently held a “State of the Schools” presentation, which focused on our district’s Strong Schools 2020 plan and provided an open forum for members of the community to ask questions. If you missed this presentation, there is another upcoming opportunity you may be interested in attending. Join me and our district’s treasurer, George Anagnostou, in the next ‘Community Conversation’ at the Strongsville Library on Wednesday, Dec. 7 from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. This is a casual setting for you to ask questions and learn more about Strongsville City Schools and our district’s financial outlook.

As always, should you wish to receive regular district communication, please sign up at www.strongnet.org. Click on ‘Our District’ in the top navigation menu and then click ‘District Communications’ to access the link to receive weekly newsletters and other important information from our district.

In addition to teachers, staff, and administration, our community members play a significant role in shaping our students and preparing them for college and career. As we continue to move our district forward to ensure a premier learning environment, we need and appreciate our community’s support and involvement. A strong school district is a reflection of a strong community. Thank you for your continued support of our students and Strongsville City Schools.
