Massachusetts-based Burn Later Productions is at the Sundance Film Festival for the second year in a row. Last year, the company’s offering was “Results’’ starring Guy Pearce and Cobie Smulders. This year, it’s “The Intervention,’’ directed, written, and costarring Clea DuVall, of “Argo, “American Horror Story,’’ and “The Lizzie Borden Chronicles.’’ The film, which premiered Tuesday, follows four couples who take a getaway that, unbeknownst to one couple, was created as an intervention for their marriage. Stars include Smulders, Vincent Piazza, Melanie Lynskey, Alia Shawkat, Natasha Lyonne, Ben Schwartz, and Jason Ritter. Sara Quin of the rock duo Tegan and Sara composed the film’s score. Burn Later is run by local guys Paul Bernon and Sam Slater.
