Oscar winner Chris Cooper and his wife, writer Marianne Leone Cooper, attended a screening of “Coming Through the Rye’’ at the 25th annual Woods Hole Film Festival over the weekend. The story is based on writer-director Jim Sadwith’s experience in boarding school and his obsession with Holden Caulfield, the teenage protagonist of J.D. Salinger’s novel “Catcher in the Rye.’’ (Sadwith wanted to put on a play based on the book in school, but was told that he needed to get the permission of the author, so he got a lift to New Hampshire and tracked down Salinger.) Cooper plays Salinger and Alex Wolff, who’ll portray Dzhokhar Tsarnaev in the upcoming “Patriots Day,’’ plays the character based on Sadwith.
