Replacements: Chef Jason Bond reports that Concord’s Bondir (24 Walden St. at Hubbard Street) has been sold to the team behind Fiorella’s in Newton. Bondir is slated to close in May, Bond says. He plans to return to his Cambridge flagship location to cook full-time in June.
Concord’s Bondir opened in 2013. “What we do in Cambridge wasn’t right for out here,’’ Bond told the Globe in December. Fiorella’s specializes in family-friendly pastas, pizzas, and sandwiches. “It’s a nice family operation,’’ he says.
Openings: Juice Press has opened its fifth Boston location, this time in the Seaport (109 Seaport Blvd. at Boston Wharf Road). Dine virtuously upon acai superfood bowls, organic soups and salads, and plant-based desserts, accompanied by cold-pressed juices and smoothies. Admire the on-site juicery and bottling operation while waiting in line.
Noodle Market has opened in Arlington, replacing Thai standby Sweet Chili (470 Massachusetts Ave. at Swan Place). Noodle Market specializes in Vietnamese dishes like banh mi, pho, and vermicelli bowls, and it has a smattering of Thai dishes.
Pop-ups: Indonesian pop-up Kaki Lima has taken up residence at Wink & Nod (3 Appleton St. at Tremont Street). The South End speakeasy has been home to many pop-ups, most recently Little Owl Tavern, which will open a brick-and-mortar restaurant later this year.
This enterprise is led by husband-wife team Peter Gelling and Retno Pratiwi, who met in Jakarta. Try small plates like fried shrimp dumplings, medium plates like chile-tamarind chicken wings, and large plates like roasted lobster in pineapple-peanut-chile sauce. For dessert: toasted coconut ice cream.
Coming soon-ish: Restaurateur Jack Bardy (Beat Brasserie, The Beehive) has a new restaurant in the works at Lafayette City Center (2 Avenue de Lafayette at Harrison Avenue Extension), slated to open in 2018. He isn’t ready to elaborate on the concept, but he “can confirm that it will be unlike anything currently in the area and at 55,000 square feet is unparalleled in scale,’’ according to a rep.
