Music flows in Plymouth women’s chorus concert ‘Riversong’

RIVER SONGS The women’s chorus Persephone’s Daughters will perform its spring concert, “Riversong,’’ including favorites “Shenandoah,’’ “Basin St. Blues,’’ “Deep River,’’ and contemporary pieces such as Alison Krauss’s “Away Down the River,’’ “Down to the River to Pray,’’ and concluding with the spiritual, “Peace Like a River.’’

SCHOOL FOUNDER Razia Jan, a former South Shore resident who returned to Afghanistan to found a school for girls, will speak at the Scituate Rotary. She will show pictures of the Michael J. Kelley School in Afghanistan. The son of Scituate Rotary members Joe and Karen Kelley, Michael Kelley died in action in Afghanistan.
