This election cycle has me soul-sick for our democracy. After Sunday night’s debate I went to bed and pulled the covers over my head, literally.
Like all Americans, I want so much more for our country. Yes, I was a Bernie Sanders supporter, and I concede that Hillary Clinton is a flawed candidate. But I accept also that she is a qualified one.
The very possibility that an uninformed, draft- and tax-dodging, narcissistic, predatory bully could occupy the White House for four days, let alone four years, is simply unacceptable.
I applaud those Republicans and others who have publicly rejected Donald Trump, and I ask everyone to think honestly and hard about what a Trump presidency, as opposed to a Clinton presidency, would do to the prospects for all our futures.
