Boston already leads in spending
I FIND it odd that the Globe’s story on the protests over school cuts in the Boston Public Schools (“Boston students walk out over cuts,’’ Metro, March 8) does not remind readers that the system is one the best-funded schools in the state, and far more than many wealthy suburbs. According to state figures, Boston spends $18,372 per student, compared to Hingham ($12,367), Winchester ($12,800), or Belmont ($13,028).
This “protest’’ is just a sad example of unions using naive students and the media.
