This might be the best place to enjoy a stormy night. Nearly every room in this three-level contemporary has a ceiling at least 10 feet high and floor-to-ceiling triple-insulated windows, making nature’s palette on this 3-acre lot the screen worth watching.

A stone stairwell curls up to the entrance and foyer, where six windows of different shapes shower the foyer with sunlight underneath a 20-foot-high ceiling. Three steps lead to an open layout encompassing the living room, dining area, breakfast nook, and kitchen, which gets the most dramatic treatment of all. Here, a white island with a granite waterfall-style countertop hosts a cooktop and seating for four, and the appliances are stainless steel. Two windows, each 10-by-6 feet, provide exquisite views of the rear deck and Dry Pond, a shallow spot that welcomes kayakers and canoeists when there isn’t a drought. The walls and cabinets have a very contemporary faux-wood treatment that makes it cohesive with the natural view. The kitchen shares a double-sided floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace with the living room.

Four of the home’s five bedrooms are on this level as well. They radiate from a hallway off the foyer. Two offer en-suite baths, while the other pair shares a Jack-and-Jill bath.

A stairwell in the foyer winds up to the master suite, which occupies the entire top level. Like every room in this 7,200-square-foot house, the master suite is generously sized. The rear wall is nothing but windows, and the unblocked views make you wish for a blizzard to watch — well, for a few minutes, anyway.

The suite has a walk-in closet with built-in cabinetry; a bath with a double vanity, a soaking tub set before a stone accent wall, and a frameless-glass shower; and a deck. Two stairs lead to a large sitting area and then to an office with a smaller deck all its own.

The walkout lower level keeps faith with the overall roomy design of this house; the family room alone is 850 square feet. Sliding-glass doors open to a landscaped backyard with a swimming pool, built-in hot tub, stone waterfall, and pond views. A media room, sitting area, and bonus room complete this level, which provides access to a three-car garage with glass doors.
