Navy identifies 3 who died in crash

MIAMI — The Navy said two sailors from Florida and another from Louisiana died in an plane crash in the Philippine Sea. The 7th Fleet identified the men as Lieutenant Steven Combs and Airman apprentice Bryan Grosso of Florida and airman Matthew Chialastri of Louisiana. The C-2A Greyhound transport aircraft was traveling to the USS Ronald Reagan on Wednesday when it crashed. The three were assigned to the aircraft carrier. The Navy is investigating the cause of the crash. (AP)

Boy killed, 5 hurt in street shooting

CLEVELAND — A 12-year-old boy was killed when he was struck by a stray bullet as he and his father stepped outside the father’s liquor store, police said. Five teenage boys between the ages of 14 and 16 were wounded in the shooting about 7:30 p.m. Friday, including one who received a bullet wound to the head. Police have asked for the public’s help in locating three to four male suspects, who are also believed to be juveniles. (AP)

Massacre survivor hit-and-run victim

LAS VEGAS — A man who survived the Oct. 1 mass shooting that killed 58 concertgoers in Las Vegas was killed in a hit-and-run in southern Nevada. Roy McClellan, 52, of Las Vegas died Nov. 17 while hitchhiking on State Route 160 in Pahrump, about 50 miles west of Las Vegas. His widow, Denise McClellan, told KSNV-TV, the mass shooting ‘‘was messing with his head’’ and that he was undergoing therapy. (AP)

TEXAS

US border agent honored at service

EL PASO — Funeral services were held Saturday for a Border Patrol agent in Texas who was found dead from head and other injuries. Attorney General Jeff Sessions attended the service for Rogelio Martinez at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. The cause of Martinez’s death last Sunday is under investigation. His partner, whose name hasn’t been released, was seriously injured. Both men were found in a culvert near Van Horn, 30 miles from the Mexico border. (AP)
