Instagram celebrity chef Jacques la Merde was finally unmasked as Christina Flynn, executive chef at Toronto’s iQ Food Co., during a special dinner at Will Gilson’s Puritan & Company. Flynn had managed to keep Jacques La Merde’s true identity a secret for months as she posted photos of meticulously plated food and mocked chef bros. (The Instagram account has over 101,000 followers.) But her alter ego was revealed at a dinner Thursday, which coincided with Flynn’s appearance as a guest judge on “Top Chef.’’ The ticketed très soigné dinner at Puritan & Company featured dishes by Flynn, Gilson, Brian Mercury of Harvest, Michael Scelfo of Alden & Harlow, Craig Williams of Coppersmith, and Jonny O’Callaghan of Toronto’s Maple Leaf Tavern, and raised more than $1,800 for Lovin’ Spoonfuls.
