The support for folks burned out of house and home by the 10-alarm blaze that damaged or destroyed dozens of dwellings in Cambridge has been heartening to see during the holiday season. Mayor E. Denise Simmons’s office has raised more than $500,000 in assistance for those affected by the fire. Now some celebrated chefs are stepping up. Chefs from Puritan & Company (Will Gilson), the Blue Room/Belly, Commonwealth (Steve Nookie Postal), Craigie on Main (Tony Maws), Little Donkey (Jamie Bissonnette), and BISq (Alex Saenz) are collaborating Sunday to benefit the fire victims. The event, organized by Puritan & Company’s Gilson, who’s hosting at his restaurant in Inman Square, costs $100 with proceeds going to the Cambridge Mayor’s Fire Relief Fund. Participating chefs will, of course, be prepping some of the delectable dishes they’re known for.
