Following an overdose at a hotel in downtown Boston, two men were charged with trafficking more than 100 grams of methamphetamine, prosecutors said.

Jeffrey Bertrand, 30, of Everett, and Dylan Donahue, 23, of Granby, were staying at the W Boston Hotel Thursday night, when Bertrand overdosed at about 4:30 a.m. Friday and was taken to a local hospital, according to a statement from the Suffolk district attorney’s office.

Hotel staff told Donahue the men were being evicted from the room and he collected their belongings and left the hotel, prosecutors said.

Hotel staff then found a bag containing crystal meth in the room and notified police, prosecutors said.

Police spoke with the men, who had returned to the hotel, before seizing 142 grams of suspected crystal meth from the room, as well as a small safe, a bowl with crystal meth residue, hypodermic needles, and other evidence of drug distribution and use, prosecutors said.

After arresting the two men, police also found a suboxone strip pack and a small bag of cocaine on Donahue, prosecutors said.

In addition to the trafficking charges, Donahue is facing charges of possession of a Class B substance, prosecutors said.

The two men appeared in Boston Municipal Court Monday and bail was set at $2,000, prosecutors said. Both men must submit to GPS monitoring and home confinement and must stay away from Boston if they are released.

The men are expected to return to court Oct. 5.
