


I-71 chase ends in crash
MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP – The Medina Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol was involved in a vehicle pursuit Nov. 27 on Interstate 71.
The pursuit started at milepost 213 southbound and ended on state Route 539 in Congress Township in Wayne County. The driver, operating a 2005 green Chevrolet truck, lost control, ran off the road and crashed into a yard.
The driver, Cody Sharnsky, of Canton, was arrested at the scene.
Sharnsky had two outstanding warrants out of Perry Township is Stark County on felony counts of theft and breaking and entering. He was transported to Lodi Hospital after sustaining minor injuries.
Town and Country EMS and the Lodi Police Department also assisted at the scene.
Sharnsky remains in the Stark County Jail on $100,000 bond.
