COMPAGNIE HERVÉ KOUBI This intriguing company is composed of a dozen French-Algerian and African men, most of whom have backgrounds in hip-hop and street dance. But the choreography also mines capoeira, martial arts, ballet, and contemporary dance. KIERAN JORDAN DANCE The talented Jordan and her troupe present “Little Gifts: A Celebration of Irish Dance Steps and Tunes.’’ Featuring visuals by the Irish-born artist Vincent Crotty and live music, the show eschews the spectacle of many large-scale productions in favor of an intimate evening of solos and small ensemble pieces highlighting the simplicity and immediacy of Irish step dancing. KELLEY DONOVAN & DANCERS The most recent work by the provocative Donovan and her company, “The Body Becomes the Messenger,’’ is an evening-length exploration of how our bodies affect our emotions, spirituality, and personal connections. DOPPELGÄNGER DANCE COLLECTIVE The fledgling company founded by Shura Baryshnikov and Danielle Davidson presents its first full-length dance event, a concert and symposium titled “THE FIRST FOUR.’’ The performance features newly commissioned duets by Heidi Henderson, Paul Singh, Sydney Skybetter, and B.J.
