GRAND HARMONIE The period ensemble opens its fifth season with “Bohemian Rhapsody,’’ a concert that includes the first American performance of Dvorak’s Wind Serenade on original 19th-century wind instruments, as well as works by Hummel and Smetana. Sept. 17, 7:30 p.m., Second Church in Newton; Sept. 18, 7:30 p.m., St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Cambridge. www.grandharmonie.org

PACIFICA QUARTET The ensemble (pictured) concludes its pairings of string quartets by Mozart and Britten with the former’s Quartet No. 15 in D minor (K. 421) and the latter’s Quartet No. 3. Sept. 18, 1:30 p.m., Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. 617-278-5156, www.gardner museum.org
