Filming of the forthcoming movie “Thoroughbred’’ wrapped up recently. The movie was written and directed by Cory Finley (inset) and stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Olivia Cooke as teenage girls from Connecticut who rekindle their friendship and discover “that neither is what she seems to be, and that a murder might solve both of their problems.’’
Most of the filming for the psychological thriller was done at The Oaks, a majestic Georgian Revival mansion in Cohasset. Other scenes were shot at Tewksbury Hospital, Averie Spa in Cohasset, two private residences in Cohasset and Scituate, Harlequin Stables in Westwood, and outside Amarin of Thailand, a restaurant in Wellesley.
The movie is being produced by Nat Faxon, Jim Rash, Kevin J. Walsh (the guys who made “The Way Way Back’’) and Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks of June Pictures (“Dude,’’ “The Florida Project’’). The executive producers are Ryan Stowell and Declan Baldwin (who produced “Manchester by the Sea’’ with Walsh), and B. Ted Deiker.
