Dancing With the Stars 8 p.m., ABC

I remember when this show started 11 years ago, and I thought, “It will never last.’’ Ah, that was back when I was young and innocent.

On Monday night, ABC introduces season 23 of the reality show, with the following 13 celebrities: Ryan Lochte, Rick Perry, Amber Rose, Laurie Hernandez, Kenny “Babyface’’ Edmonds, Marilu Henner, Calvin Johnson, Jake T. Austin, James Hinchcliffe, Jana Kramer, Maureen McCormick, Terra Jole, and Vanilla Ice.

First thought: Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.

Second thought: This year, in particular, the show ought to be renamed “Dancing With the Fallen Stars.’’

Third thought: Lochte will work hard to be “grateful’’ and feel “blessed,’’ as he tries to rehabilitate his image after his Rio drama. “I just want to move forward and I want the whole world to move forward,’’ he has said about his decision to do the show.

Yeah, well, people in hell want ice water but they don’t get it.

Fourth thought: Rick Perry? The former governor of Texas and recent Republican presidential candidate who lost the nomination to Donald Trump? Yup, one and the same. I guess he finally understands that reality TV may be the best launching pad for his next campaign.

Fifth thought: Vanilla Ice for president.
