CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock 8 p.m., ABC

I hope those jeans are comfortable. This three-hour hootenanny, hosted by Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett, was filmed in June at the annual four-day country music throwdown — and edited down from that festival’s 11 stages and over 500 performers. Wednesday’s cut catches performances from a sky full of big and rising stars of the (increasingly poppy) genre, including Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton (pictured), and Cassadee Pope.

The Late Show With Stephen Colbert 11:30 p.m., CBS

John Cena Wednesday, which means I’ll watch. The WWE star has been taking more and more time away from the ring to explore less violent expressions of his gutbusting talents. There was his hard-to-miss appearance in Amy Schumer’s “Trainwreck,’’ his stint as a student to life coach Leslie Brown, his short-lived career as a career counselor, and just this past week, his drag interpretation of Hillary Clinton at the Teen Choice Awards. If they haven’t come up with a bit yet, might I suggest News in Briefs? That one’s on the house.
