What An elaborate 4-foot-tall art installation made of birch bark, flowers, candles, and pine cones
Whose Idea Catalyst co-owner Sara Kovel also runs an event-planning company, and she works quite a bit with Marc Hall, an in-demand Boston floral designer — and the former creative director at Winston Flowers. “He’s my go-to guy. I admire him and think he’s just so immensely talented,’’ says Kovel. No boring bouquets here: Hall designed an elaborate installation of glass-blown vases hand-tied with birch branches and flowers to separate the restaurant’s atrium and bar, complete with flickering candles at night. “This is different from your typical floral arrangement. There’s a huge wow factor,’’ Kovel says. “And it just came to him while he was drinking hot cider at the bar!’’ The current ensemble is wintry, but Hall plans to create a new installation in time for spring.
