Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys just keep on rolling. Not even a fake-spike special from Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger could derail the hottest team in the NFL.

Elliott ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns — both in the final two minutes — and had an 83-yard catch-and-run for a score as Dallas pulled off a thrilling 35-30 victory in Pittsburgh on Sunday for its eighth straight win.

Dak Prescott passed for 319 yards and two scores for Dallas (8-1), which matched the longest single-season win streak in club history.

Dez Bryant added six catches for 116 yards, including a 50-yard touchdown reception.

Roethlisberger threw for 408 yards and three touchdowns. Antonio Brown caught 14 passes for 154 yards, including a 15-yard score with 42 seconds left after Roethlisberger faked a spike in an attempt to surprise the Dallas defense. The heady play gave the Steelers (4-5) a 1-point lead.

It also gave Prescott and Elliott too much time.

Prescott deftly led the Cowboys to midfield. A facemask penalty on Pittsburgh’s Ross Cockrell moved the ball well within field goal range, but it ultimately didn’t matter. Elliott sprinted 32 yards up the middle for the go-ahead touchdown with nine seconds left.

‘‘It parted like the Red Sea,’’ Elliott said of the play that put him over 1,000 yards rushing for the season. ‘‘All I had to do was run.’’

Late in the first quarter, Prescott flipped a screen pass to Elliott that he turned into an 83-yard romp, the first TD reception of Elliott’s career.

Three times Pittsburgh attempted a 2-point conversion, and all three times the Steelers came up short.

Broncos 25, Saints 23 — Justin Simmons’s perfectly timed leap over Saints long snapper Justin Drescher brought the celebration inside the Superdome to a stunning halt, and sent the Broncos (7-3) galloping the other way for a first-of-its kind victory.

Will Parks scooped up Simmons’s smothering block of Wil Lutz’s point-after kick and ran 84 yards for a defensive 2-point conversion that lifted Denver to a wild victory over the Saints.

The decisive play came while the crowd was still buzzing about Brandin Cooks’s twisting, 32-yard TD catch between two defenders, which had put New Orleans (4-5) in position to take the lead with 1:28 left. Simmons’s block was scooped up by Parks, who nearly stepped out of bounds as he raced down the left sideline.

It was the first such play to provide the winning points in an NFL game and the third return for 2 points since the NFL began allowing defensive scores on such plays in 2015.

Dolphins 31, Chargers 24 — Kiko Alonso intercepted Philip Rivers’s pass and returned it 60 yards for a touchdown with 1:01 left, giving visiting Miami (5-4) its fourth win in a row. The Dolphins intercepted Rivers four times, all in the fourth quarter.

Alonso jumped in front of Tyrell Williams and outraced everybody into the end zone for the winning score. Two plays into the ensuing drive, Rivers was intercepted again, by Tony Lippett, his second of the game.

Rivers’s 51-yard TD pass to Williams with 4:04 left gave the Chargers (4-6) a 24-21 lead. Miami came right back to tie it on a 27-yard field goal from Andrew Franks.

Rams 9, Jets 6 — Greg Zuerlein kicked three field goals, including a go-ahead 34-yarder with 6:52 left, and visiting Los Angeles (4-5) snapped a four-game losing streak while spoiling Bryce Petty’s first NFL start.

Rams linebacker Alec Ogletree intercepted Petty­ with just under two minutes left. The game featured 15 punts — eight by the Jets (3-7) and seven by the Rams — and the teams combined for just 576 yards of total offense.

Petty started in place of an injured Ryan Fitzpatrick, but couldn’t get much going. Petty, a fourth-round draft pick out of Baylor last year, went 19 of 32 for 163 yards with a touchdown.

Eagles 24, Falcons 15 — Ryan Mathews ran for 108 yards and two touchdowns, and a tenacious Eagles defense held down the league’s highest-scoring offense in Philadelphia.

Carson Wentz threw for 231 yards and led the Eagles (5-4) to his first comeback victory. Caleb Sturgis­ made three field goals, including a clutch kick from 48 yards to seal the win late.

Matt Ryan threw a 76-yard TD pass to Taylor Gabriel in the fourth quarter to give Atlanta (6-4) a 15-13 lead, but Philadelphia answered. Mathews ran in from the 5 and also converted the 2-point conversion for a 21-15 lead with 7:14 left.

Chiefs 20, Panthers 17 — Kansas City pulled out a win in Charlotte, N.C., when Marcus Peters stripped Kelvin Benjamin with 20 seconds left and Cairo Santos kicked a 37-yard field goal as time expired.

The Chiefs (7-2) overcame a 17-point deficit to win their fifth straight, moving into a tie for first place in the AFC West with idle Oakland.

Cam Newton threw for 261 yards and a touchdown and ran for 54 yards and a score for the Panthers (3-6).

Titans 47, Packers 25 — Five different players scored a touchdown in the first half for host Tennessee (5-5), and Marcus Mariota threw for 295 yards and four scores in a rout of scuffling Green Bay (4-5), which has lost four of five.

DeMarco Murray set the tone on the opening play from scrimmage, running 75 yards for a touchdown. He finished with 123 yards and also threw a TD pass.

Redskins 26, Vikings 20 — Kirk Cousins threw for two touchdowns, Preston Smith had two sacks and a late interception, and host Washington (5-3-1) picked up its first victory in almost a month. Minnesota has lost four straight since a 5-0 start.

Cousins was 22 of 33 for 262 yards with TD passes to Vernon Davis and Jamison Crowder.

The Vikings’ Sam Bradford was 31 of 39 for 307 yards, two TDs, and the interception that Smith tipped and caught with 5:44 left. Stefon Diggs had 13 catches for 164 yards.

Cardinals 23, 49ers 20 — Chandler Catanzaro kicked a 34-yard field goal as time expired and Arizona (4-4-1) escaped with a home victory over lowly San Francisco (1-8).

The Cardinals’ Carson Palmer was 30 of 49 for a season-high 376 yards and a touchdown, but was nearly undone by his three second-half turnovers, the last of which led to Colin Kaepernick’s tying 4-yard TD run with 1:55 to play.

Buccaneers 36, Bears 10 — Jameis Winston passed for 312 yards and two touchdowns to lead host Tampa Bay (4-5) to a rout of mistake-prone Chicago (2-7).

Winston threw for TDs of 10 yards to Harvard’s Cameron Brate and 43 yards to Freddie Martino, the latter set up by a bizarre highlight-reel play that saw the No. 1 pick in last year’s draft scramble 23 yards backward into his own end zone before avoiding a safety and launching a 39-yard completion to Mike Evans at the Chicago 38.

The Bears’ Jay Cutler threw two interceptions and fumbled twice, one resulting in a third-quarter safety that put the Bucs up, 29-10. Tampa Bay forced four turnovers overall and sacked Cutler four times.

Texans 24, Jaguars 21 — Brock Osweiler threw two TD passes and Kareem Jackson returned an interception 42 yards for a score for Houston (6-3), while Jacksonville (2-7) fell to 0-4 at home.

The Texans scored on offense and defense and set up another score with special teams. On the fifth play of the game, Jackson stepped in front of Allen Hurns, tipped the ball up, bobbled it, secured it, and sauntered down the sideline before high-stepping into the end zone.
