It takes only a minute or two to get from the castle-like tower at Prospect Hill Park and its “Grand Union’’ flag to this two-unit condo building, which recently underwent a down-to-the studs rebirth.

The two units still share the front porch, with its new composite decking, as well as a small entry. The home featured here takes up the first floor and lower level.

The entry opens to a foyer with a closet on the left. At roughly 95 square feet and with a window of its own, it’s a room unto itself, not a pause before something greater arrives, as many foyers are. It also captures, in a small way, the decorative features of this renewed home: white wainscot, broad crown molding, and in between the two, walls painted a calming shade of beige.

A doorway connects to a 186-square-foot living room that has the same architectural treatments as the foyer, but windows that are far larger and greater in number — four line the bow window in the front of the house. This room also displays another gift of the renovation: six recessed lights that seem larger in size and more luminescent than lighting commonly used in upgrades.

A doorway that takes up about three-quarters of a wall opens to the 192-square-foot dining room, where there are four recessed lights and a table for six is nestled next to a bay window bump-out. The flooring throughout the first level is oak.

At about this point, the house takes something of a detour from public space to private space; a door off the dining room opens into the master suite. The 174-square-foot bedroom area has a bay window bump-out and a long walk-in closet. The bath features a shower with clear-glass doors and a tile backsplash. The single vanity has a white ceramic bowl atop a white cabinet.

The kitchen, which is open to the dining room, offers custom wooden cabinets that are a creamy white — some of which appear to float on the wall. On the right-hand side, there is a long counter of river white granite that includes the kitchen sink, which is positioned underneath a trio of windows. The appliances are stainless steel, including a refrigerator with a touchscreen, and the backsplash behind the gas stove is white subway tile. An island offers seating for three.

There are three doors out of the kitchen. One leads to the second bedroom, which is 118 square feet and has a decent closet and two windows. The second connects to a full bath with a single vanity topped with river white granite. The flooring is a pebble-style tile. The third door opens to the laundry room, which offers access to the rear deck and the stairwell to the lower level.

The ceilings on this level are lower, but the space gets plenty of natural light from the above-ground windows. This floor has a living room, a space with a closet used as an office, a media room, and a full bath with a single vanity and a shower/tub combo. The flooring on this level is ceramic tile.

There is a rental parking space available with the unit at no cost, but only for one year. A shed is tucked under the deck.

The listing agent, Mike Cohen of Covelle & Chen RE/Max Leading Edge Real Estate, will host an open house from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 3.
