One of the surest signs of spring is the annual Party in the Park, which was held this week at the Pinebank Promontory at Jamaica Pond. As always, elegant headwear was on display as over 800 people (including Mayor Marty Walsh) gathered to support the restoration and maintenance of the Emerald Necklace park system. Guests included the state’s first lady Lauren Baker, former WHDH anchor Janet Wu, Party in the Park founder Wendy Shattuck, and Ursula and Ingrid Liff, daughters of Justine Mee Liff, the former parks commissioner who was a staunch supporter of efforts to protect the Olmsted-designed Emerald Necklace parks.
