Openings: Restaurateurs Jeremy Sewall, Garrett Harker, and Shore Gregory (among the three of them, projects include Branch Line, Eastern Standard, Island Creek Oyster Bar, and Row 34) have opened Harvard Square’s Les Sablons (2 Bennett St. at Eliot Street), an endeavor that “leans French,’’ says a rep. The two-story restaurant is housed in the historic Conductor’s Building. Enjoy crispy potatoes with white sturgeon caviar and crème fraîche, or grilled lamb loin with barley and oat porridge, fava beans, and sunchokes for dinner nightly from chefs Sewall and Brian Rae (formerly of Rialto and Centre Street Cafe), paired with cocktails from noted mixologist Jackson Cannon.
Legal Fish Bowl, the newest concept from Legal Sea Foods, opens this week within the restaurant’s current location in Kendall Square (355 Main St. at Dock Street), inside a converted private dining room. Enjoy bowls stuffed with ginger tuna and seaweed salad; ginger salmon with brown rice and avocado; shrimp mixed with lo mein noodles; grilled chicken breast with roasted cauliflower; and other healthy combos. It’s open daily from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m.
Get in line. A brand-new Flour Bakery has opened in the Back Bay (30 Dalton St. at Belvidere Street). Owner Joanne Chang says that this branch will have a similar menu to her other locations, with a larger grab-and-go format to accommodate the slender digs. She’ll also offer daily soup and pizza specials.
ReelHouse opened this weekend on the ground floor of East Boston luxury waterfront apartment complex The Eddy (6 New St. at Sumner Street). It’s the latest from the Navy Yard Hospitality Group, the team behind Faneuil Hall’s Mija Cantina and Charlestown’s Pier 6. Culinary director Marc Orfaly (Pigalle) will serve seafood raw, in clambake and grilled form, and as tacos. To drink: tropical cocktails like mules and mai tais. Naturally, there’s a large patio. It’s open for dinner nightly and for weekend brunch.
Coming soonish: The DeMagistris family, who run Belmont and Lexington’s popular Il Casale and Cambridge’s dante, will open a restaurant in the former Macy’s digs in Belmont Center (75 Leonard St. at Alexander Avenue). No details on the concept yet, says a rep, but the space will welcome a Foodie’s market in the near future. KARA BASKIN
