You can watch the usual Rose Parade coverage on New Year’s Day, when well-preserved network anchors never stop smiling as the batons and giant blow-up dolls pass by. They chit-chat about the weather, and they praise the marchers.

Or you can turn to Amazon and watch Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan do their thing. They are “parade legends, beloved the world over,’’ as Amazon’s Heather Schuster put it in a statement. The local newscasters have covered the event for 25 years.

Perhaps you know the two stars of “The 2018 Rose Parade Hosted by Cord & Tish’’ by their alternative names, which are Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon. Yup, the two “Saturday Night Live’’ alums are teaming up for this special, which is coproduced by Amazon and Funny or Die. It will stream live on Amazon beginning at 8 a.m. on Jan. 1.
