ATTENDANCE, PLEASE

DE Rob Ninkovich (personal) missed his third straight practice. Rookie WR Cody Hollister, who appeared to jam his left shoulder Friday, was absent.

WRs Danny Amendola and Malcolm Mitchell returned after missing Friday’s practice. They were in full pads but did their work on the lower field.

LB Dont’a Hightower and DT Alan Branch (PUP); and rookie OT Andrew Jelks (NFI) were in sweats and also did their work on the rehab field.

NEW INJURIES: Safety Duron Harmon landed awkwardly after a midair end zone collision with Malcolm Butler and Chris Hogan. He walked off gingerly — but under his own power — favoring his right knee after being attended to by the medical staff. A league source said the injury isn’t considered “too serious.’’ . . . RB Brandon Bolden lightly jogged to the locker room midway through practice and did not return.

DRESS CODE: Full pads.

THREE UP

■ Mike Gillislee: The free agent running back had several strong runs, including back-to-back power rushes for touchdowns. Safe to say, he welcomes contact.

■ Jordan Richards: Another strong day for the third-year safety. He picked off Tom Brady (the QB’s first of camp) and also made a big pass breakup on TE Rob Gronkowski in the end zone.

■ Raymond Clayborn: He attended practice in the morning and was inducted into the Patriots Hall of Fame in the afternoon.

THREE DOWN

■ Ryan Allen: Certainly the wind didn’t help, but the veteran punter looked a little out of sorts and shanked a couple of punts, including one that landed about eight rows deep in the bleachers.

■ Deatrich Wise: The rookie DE had to do a couple of penalty laps during some one-on-one drills. It’s not all bad news here: He showed some nice burst off the edge on 11 on 11s.

■ Tom Brady: Relax. He was blistering most of the day (especially in 11 on 11s), but he did throw that pick. Hey, the Super Bowl MVP sets a high bar.

TOP PLAYS

■ Brady threaded the needle on an intermediate throw to Hogan, who had slipped into a soft spot between Stephon Gilmore and Patrick Chung.

■ Brady completed a deep throw to Julian Edelman, who beat solid downfield coverage from Kyle Van Noy, on the back end of a flea-flicker.

■ Jimmy Garoppolo fired a beautiful deep ball to Brandin Cooks, who had zoomed behind Nate Ebner and Duron Harmon. Cooks was greeted by a celebratory leaping shoulder bump from Hogan.

■ Later Cooks got behind the secondary again (have we mentioned the kid can haul?) and snagged in a perfect deep spiral from Brady. Cooks received more kudos from Hogan, who spun the ball on the ground. Hogan was sent on a lap as punishment.

■ Gillislee received a crunching block from Shaq Mason on his first TD run and similar one from Joe Thuney on the next. He celebrated with a subdued spike on the second.

■ Rookie LB Harvey Langi made a big goal-line hit on Rex Burkhead, pumping up the defense.

■ Undrafted rookie Austin Carr continues to impress. He catches everything in sight and made a nifty snag after wedging his way between Kenny Moore and Devin McCourty.

ODDS AND ENDS

■ Brady again received the biggest ovation when he jogged onto the field. Offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle, who was nearby, waved to the crowd and accepted the adoration from the fans.

■ Second-biggest cheer came early on when Edelman (from Brady) and Gronkowski (from Garoppolo) made simultaneous deep catches during a side-by-side drill.

■ The cornerbacks again performed what we’re dubbing the “oven mitt drill’’ as they wore the gloves sparring partners wear to prevent clutching and grabbing of receivers.

■ With long snapper Joe Cardona back in the fold, Stephen Gostkowski did some extensive field goal work. The kicker also recorded some of the punt plays with a tablet.

■ Scariest drill of the day: Seeing Brady and Jacoby Brissett take turns as a faux safety during one drill. Don’t worry, they were just placeholders.

■ Funniest drill of the day: Watching the defensive linemen field punts. There was some hilarity, but big Josh Augusta (6 feet 4 inches, 335 pounds) is surprisingly athletic and nimble in a Vince Wilfork kind of mold.

■ Bill Belichick did a lot of hands-on coaching while the third-team offense and defense squared off early in the session.

■ Celtics coach Brad Stevens was a practice guest and spent some time chatting with Belichick, among others.

■ Wise (his first of two) and fellow rookie Derek Rivers did simultaneous penalty laps. Also going for runs were Elandon Roberts, Conor McDermott, and Caleb Kidder.
