Dylan Bundy took a no-hitter into the sixth inning for the second game in a row, Pedro Alvarez hit two of Baltimore’s four solo homers, and the Orioles beat the visiting Texas Rangers, 5-1, Tuesday night in a duel between AL division leaders.

Making his fourth career start, Bundy allowed one hit and a walk over seven sparkling innings against a potent lineup featuring newcomers Carlos Beltran and Jonathan Lucroy.

Bundy (4-3) retired the first 10 batters before issuing a walk to Ian Desmond, who was thrown out trying to steal as Beltran struck out. Elvis Andrus ended the rookie’s no-hit bid with a clean line drive up the middle with two outs in the sixth.

Bundy capped his outing with a 1-2-3 seventh, the farthest he’s gone in the majors. Facing the team with the AL’s best record, the righthander struck out seven and didn’t allow a runner past first base.

In his previous outing, Bundy — the fourth overall pick in the 2011 draft — retired the first 16 batters against Colorado before giving up three runs in the sixth.

Texas closed to 4-1 in the eighth against Brad Brach before Darren O’Day struck out Desmond with the bases loaded and two outs. O’Day came back in the ninth to earn his third save.

It was the second consecutive win for the Orioles following a five-game skid that temporarily dropped them out of first place in the AL East.

Bundy outpitched Yu Darvish (2-3), who allowed three homers for only the second time in 90 major league appearances.

Alvarez connected in the fifth and seventh innings, and Adam Jones went deep on an 0-2 pitch in the sixth.

Darvish was pulled after Alvarez’s second homer made it 3-0, and Matt Wieters greeted reliever Dario Alvarez with a shot to right.

Facing the Orioles for the first time since taking the loss in the 2012 wild-card game, Darvish gave up three runs and struck out nine.

The loss snapped the AL West-leading Rangers’ four-game winning streak.

Mets 7, Yankees 1 — Jacob deGrom (7-5) pitched seven scoreless innings, Alejandro De Aza and Travis d’Arnaud homered off Masahiro Tanaka, and the Mets’ offense woke up at home.

Jay Bruce went 0 for 4 and took a pair of called third strikes in his Mets debut, but his new team scored its most runs since July 7 in winning for the second time in seven games.

DeGrom escaped a two-out jam in the first by striking out Didi Gregorius, then got out of runners-at-the-corners trouble in the second by fanning Tanaka, who had trouble picking up signs from Yankees third base coach Joe Espada.

DeGrom gave up just two hits after that and wound up pitching four-hit ball with eight strikeouts and one walk. He retired 12 in a row before Mark Teixeira’s one-out double in the sixth. The righthander also had two hits at the plate.

Royals 3, Rays 2 — Salvador Perez hit a two-run home run in the seventh inning that carried visiting Kansas City over Tampa Bay. Perez’s 16th homer came off Xavier Cedeno (3-3) after a single by Eric Hosmer. It lifted the Royals to their 12th win in their last 13 games against the Rays.

Tigers 11, White Sox 5 — Victor Martinez and Miguel Cabrera each had a homer and a two-run double to lead host Detroit to a 13-hit assault of Chicago. The Tigers broke the game open in the fifth, erasing a 1-0 deficit by erupting for six runs against White Sox starter James Shields (5-13).

Phillies 13, Giants 8 — Cameron Rupp delivered the decisive blow for host Philadelphia with a three-run homer off reliever Sergio Romo in the bottom of the eighth. Rupp’s 11th homer of the season broke an 8-8 tie and keyed a five-run eruption.

Reds 7, Cardinals 5 — Scott Schebler’s three-run homer in the ninth inning rallied host Cincinnati over St. Louis. Brandon Moss and Tommy Pham hit solo homers in the eighth for a 5-4 lead, but the Cardinals couldn’t hold on after Reds closer Jumbo Diaz fanned Seung Hwan Oh (2-2) with the bases loaded in the ninth.

Twins 10, Indians 6 — Brian Dozier and Max Kempler hit two-run homers in the third to help visiting Minnesota streak to a commanding 8-0 lead. Cleveland scored six runs in the fifth on two-run homers by Carlos Santana and Mike Napoli, but was foiled by Eduardo Escobar’s two-run homer in the ninth.

Blue Jays 2, Astros 1 — R.A. Dickey threw seven solid innings, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion homered, and Toronto beat host Houston. Bautista hit his 300th career homer in the third to put the Blue Jays ahead, 1-0.

Pirates 5, Braves 3 — Jung Ho Kang doubled in the tiebreaking run in a four-run sixth inning to lead Gerrit Cole and Pittsburgh past host Atlanta. Matt Kemp went 0 for 4 and ended the game with a strikeout in his Atlanta debut.

Cubs 3, Marlins 2 — Jason Hammel threw six scoreless innings, Dexter Fowler had three hits, and host Chicago beat Miami ace Jose Fernandez. Hammel extended Chicago’s scoreless streak to 24 innings before the bullpen overcame Pedro Strop’s shaky seventh. Aroldis Chapman hit 104.4 miles per hour on the radar gun in a perfect ninth as the Cubs won for the sixth time in seven games.
