A man’s body was discovered leaning against a tree in a wooded area off Interstate 95 in Georgetown Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

A motorist driving on Jewett Street at about 12:35 p.m. spotted what he thought was “ a person lying up against a tree,’’ said Carrie Kimball Monahan, a spokeswoman for the Essex district attorney’s office. The driver got out of his vehicle and approached the body, which he found was “unresponsive,’’ and called 911, Monahan said in a statement.

The body, which was found about 100 feet from the road, is believed to be that of an “older white male,’’ she said. The man has not yet been identified.

Foul play is not suspected, Monahan said.
