

Woops!, an artisanal French macaron bakery, has opened in Newton Centre at 79 Union St. Store owner Bruno Alves decided to open a location in Newton after the overwhelming success of his Woops! kiosks in the Burlington and Natick malls. Improv Jones Jrs., a teen improv troupe, continues its ongoing season with performances at the Regent Theatre in Arlington. The troupe’s shows are staged once a month and feature long- and short-form improv. The troupe includes teens from Arlington, Boston, Cambridge, Newton, and Lexington. Members of the adult improv group, Improv Jones Boston, direct the teen performances. Shows are at 8 p.m. at the Regent Underground, 7 Medford St. The next show is March 9. Tickets are $5. A free discussion on meditation and mindfulness will take place in Newton at the Leventhal-Sidman Center, 333 Nahanton St., March 5 at 1:30 p.m. The event is co-sponsored by JCC Greater Boston, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital.
