It’s no Disney World, but in a time of staycations, this red ranch perched on a hill has something to offer for every season.

The hill has three bumps ready for sledding. Above it all, and just to the side of the front entrance, is a west-facing deck great for watching sunsets or sitting with a hot toddy chortling at the chilly antics below. Switch out that après-sledding drink for an iced tea and the covered porch out back in the summer, and you can watch a pickup game of Marco Polo in the gunite pool or basketball on the half court with two backboards. There’s also a section for the youngest residents — a fenced-in area with artificial grass. A large shed holds all the toys.

When the weather is not conducive to outdoor fun, head indoors, where the living room is large enough to accommodate a piano and where the focus is on the white-brick fireplace. The living room shares an open layout with the formal dining room. From here, a doorway leads to the kitchen, which has been expanded to create a breakfast area underneath skylights and banks of windows looking out to the backyard. The cabinets are oak and the counters are a dark granite with a little sparkle. There are also stainless-steel appliances, an island with a sink and storage, and a peninsula with seating for two.

All five bedrooms and three full baths are on this level. Off the kitchen, the master suite features a wall-length closet with ornate wooden bifold doors topped with mirrors. The suite’s full bath features a double shower with a bench and a single vanity. The counter is granite, and the flooring is ceramic tile.

A family room off the kitchen and a mudroom with backyard access complete this level, where most of the flooring is a warm-hued oak.

The downstairs also has a family room, but it’s about twice the size of the one upstairs and has a built-in entertainment center, a fireplace, and a kitchenette. The lower level also contains a game room with oak-laminate floors, natural-toned wainscot topped with a drink rail, and a wet bar, as well as an office, an exercise area, a full bath, and access to the two-car garage. The square footage listed does not include the living space on the lower level.

The home sits on a 0.61-acre lot and has two driveways.
