Joey, 12, seeks a two-parent family
Joey loves sports, especially football, basketball, and soccer.

Sunday’s Child is a weekly column featuring a child currently in foster care awaiting adoption.

Joey is an insightful 12-year-old boy of Caucasian descent. He enjoys sports and especially likes to play football, basketball, and soccer. He also loves animals and takes special care of one of the therapy dogs at his current placement. Joey is a bright child who generally does well in school.

Legally freed for adoption, Joey needs an experienced two-parent family that will provide a structured home with clear expectations and rules. Joey may need post-adoption contact with his sister, who is one year older than he is. Joey would do best in a home where he is the only child or with other children who are significantly older.

Who can adopt?

Can you provide the guidance, love, and stability that a child needs?  If you’re at least 18 years old, have a stable source of income, and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child.

Adoptive parents can be single, married, or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ singles and couples.

The process to adopt a child from foster care requires training, interviews, and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you, and if so, to help connect you with a child or sibling group for which your family will be a good match. Please contact the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange at 617-964-MARE (6273) or www.mareinc.org.
