The folks at Old Sturbridge Village honored longtime political commentator Cokie Roberts with its Ken Burns Lifetime Achievement Award Friday. (It’s an eclectic bunch that has received the award, including actor Sam Waterston, actress Laura Linney, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, former news anchor Tom Brokaw, and composer John Williams.) Roberts, a contributor to ABC and NPR, got herself into a spot of trouble with her bosses at NPR earlier this year when she wrote of Donald Trump: “If he is nominated by a major party — let alone elected — the reputation of the United States would suffer a devastating blow around the world.’’ Pictured: Derek Heidemann, Roberts, Emily Dunnack, and Burns.
