Still jonesing for some Ken Burns after watching 17-plus hours of “The Vietnam War’’?

The documentary filmmaker has just launched a website called UNUM — think “E pluribus unum’’ — that supplements his film work with videos, books, podcast excerpts, and tweets. The idea behind the site (pbs.org/kenburns/unum/) is to help viewers explore specific themes of history, and when possible relate them to the present day.

So the first “issue’’ of UNUM looks at five issues raised by “The Vietnam War’’ — “What Is Patriotism,’’ “What War Reveals,’’ “Know Your Enemy,’’ “Truth, Lies & Consequences,’’ and “A Divided Nation.’’ By digging into the site, you can watch clips about each topic while reading thematically appropriate newspaper articles. You might stumble across audio clips of Burns and “Vietnam’’ co-director Lynn Novick on “WTF With Marc Maron,’’ or book recommendations, or a lesson plan for teachers covering Vietnam in the classroom. The site is free, by the way.
