Police report finding drugs on warrant suspect
Wadsworth Police Department
March 26 – Police officers located a warrant subject named Dawn Thomason, 43, of Creston, at a Smokerise Drive business shortly before midnight. Thomason had a warrant for failure to appear for sentencing on a previous theft charge. Thomason was placed into custody and officers reported finding drugs and drug paraphernalia on her person. Further charges are pending based on BCI results.
March 29 – Police officers responded to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business at approximately 8:30 p.m. in reference to a report of a shoplifter in custody. Following an investigation, the suspect, Holly Lieberth, 31, of Barberton, was arrested and taken to the Medina County Jail.
March 29 – Police officers took a theft report from a West Bergey Street resident. The matter is under investigation.
March 29 – Police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Third Street at approximately 10:30 a.m. in reference to a report of a domestic dispute. The report was forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.
March 29 – Police officers were dispatched to a Williams Reserve Boulevard business at approximately 6:40 p.m. in reference to a report of a shoplifter. After an investigation, Roland Kostera, 42, of Seven Hills, was arrested and charged with theft and possession of criminal tools. He was taken to the Medina County Jail.
March 28 – A resident from the 200 block of Fairlawn Avenue went to the police station to report a theft.
March 28 – Police received a report about a theft that occurred at a Smokerise Drive retail store March 14. The matter is under investigation.
March 27 – Personnel from a Hinkle Drive business notified police about a theft that just occurred. A suspect is known and charges are pending.
March 27 – Police received a report about a theft from a residence in the 300 block of State Street. The matter is under investigation.
March 26 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Brittney Williams for failure to appear for a sentencing.

March 25 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on Wadsworth Road at approximately 2:15 a.m. The driver, John Vincent, 55, of Carol Way, was arrested and charged with OVI.
March 25 – Police officers took a report from a Ledgestone Drive resident about an incident of identity theft.
March 24 – Police officers initiated a traffic stop in the area of College Street and Quadral Drive at approximately 9 p.m. After an investigation, the driver, Rick Dressler, 48, of Norton, was arrested and charged with OVI.
March 24 – Police officers stopped a vehicle on High Street near Interstate 76 at approximately 2 a.m. A K9 officer alerted to the odor of narcotics and officers reported finding drug paraphernalia inside. The driver, Donald Roberts, 60, of Akron, was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.
March 23 – Personnel from a business in the 900 block of Broad Street reported a shoplifting incident that occurred March 17. A suspect is known and charges are pending further investigation.
March 23 – Wadsworth Municipal Court issued a warrant for Adrian Coker for failure to appear for an arraignment.
March 23 – Police officers responded to a Smokerise Drive retail store in reference to a report of a theft that occurred earlier that day. The matter is under investigation.
March 22 – Police officers took a report from a Water Street resident about an incident of telecommunications harassment.
March 22 – Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Interstate 76 at approximately 1:45 p.m. The driver, Amber Bartley, 35, was reportedly found to be in possession of marijuana. She was issued a minor misdemeanor citation and was released.
Rittman Police Department
March 24 – An officer pulled a car over around 2 a.m. on Ohio Avenue for allegedly weaving. The woman, Melissa Weaver, 39, of Lodi, allegedly smelled strongly of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. She was arrested for OVI and reportedly blew .164 on a breath test.
March 20 – A 23-year-old Sunset Drive man told police someone stole his .45-caliber pistol while he was on vacation. A burglar removed a screen from a window and took the gun from his bedroom closet. Nothing else was taken.
March 20 – An employee at a Main Street business said a man stumbled into the store smelling strongly of alcohol and then drove off. An officer pulled over a truck matching the description given for some traffic offenses and said the driver, Carl Wellman, 68, of Rittman was unsteady and failed field sobriety tests. He was arrested for OVI and reportedly blew .119 on a breath test.
March 20 – An officer on patrol spotted Tommy Collins, 31, on South Main Street and discovered he had an active warrant out of Rittman Police for failure to appear in court on a possession of drug abuse instruments charge. He was arrested and detained in a holding cell until he could be taken to the Wayne County Jail.
Doylestown Police Department
March 24 – Police went to a Collier Drive address where a man complained of another man banging on a door. The man was found to have multiple warrants against him, including from the Adult Parole Board. He was arrested and taken to the Wayne County Jail.
March 22 – Police say they saw a man with multiple warrants leave a Hill Street residence. When they approached, he allegedly fled on foot and was arrested after a chase. He was taken to the Summit County Jail on his warrants, which included one from the Adult Parole Board. Police say charges of fleeing and eluding, obstructing official business and resisting arrest were pending.
March 19 – Police went to a Collier Drive address where a young boy could not get into his mother’s apartment. Children’s Services was notified and took the boy. The mom was later arrested for disorderly conduct and aggravated menacing.
March 18 – Police went to a report of a domestic dispute at a Collier Drive address. The woman agreed to leave with the kids and was advised to seek help from Victim Assistance and the courts.
March 18 – Officers went to a Collier Drive address for a domestic dispute. The man was taken to a hotel in Wadsworth.
West Salem Police Department
March 24 – A neighbor complained about noise and parking in the roadway. Both parties agreed to follow the park rules as stated in the handbook.
