SCORE: Red Sox 19, Rays 2

RECORD: 2-5

BREAKDOWN: Jackie Bradley Jr. had a two-run homer in the first inning and a three-run shot in the fifth, part of a 19-hit attack. Hanley Ramirez and Bryce Brentz also homered. “Trying to stay in the middle of the field,’’ said Bradley, who hit both home runs to center field.

THUMBS UP: In his spring debut, Eduardo Rodriguez fired two perfect innings and struck out two. Thirteen of his 22 pitches were strikes. Rodriguez said he pitched with no concern about his right knee, an injury that caused the Sox to hold him back at the start of camp . . . Pablo Sandoval was 2 for 3 with a double. He is 5 of 12 in four games.

THUMBS DOWN: Hard to find fault in this rout. The Sox scored in every inning but the third and their pitchers combined to allow seven hits with one walk.

MEDICAL REPORT: Josh Rutledge (left knee) played his first game of the spring. He entered as a pinch runner in the second inning and was 1 for 2. He played four innings at second base.

AROUND THE BASES: Craig Kimbrel made his spring debut. The closer worked a perfect third inning and showed improved mechanics in his delivery, which had been a point of emphasis the last few weeks . . . Brandon Workman fired a scoreless inning in his third appearance. He has not allowed a run . . . The Sox have a three-hour bus ride on Friday morning for their game against the Braves at Disney World’s Champion Stadium.

NEXT GAME: The Red Sox play the Atlanta Braves at 1:05 p.m. Friday in Lake Buena Vista. WEEI-AM (850) has the game. Rick Porcello makes his first start of the spring.
