Kelvin, 12, always has a smile
Kelvin loves being outside. (andrea york)

Sunday’s Child is a weekly column featuring a child currently in foster care awaiting adoption.

Kelvin is a sensitive, smart, and funny 12-year-old boy of Caucasian and Hispanic descent. When he is not making people laugh, Kelvin likes to spend time outside playing basketball and football. While inside, he enjoys playing card games and board games. Kelvin is a very lovable young man.

Kelvin is in the seventh grade. He enjoys making new friends at school. His favorite subject is science.

Legally freed for adoption, Kelvin would do well in a two parent home, with older children. Kevin will need a family who can provide him with emotional support and love as well as strong supervision. Kelvin would like his potential family to know that he has a kind heart. Kelvin says he is hoping for a family who does not yell and is nice.

Who can adopt?

Can you provide the guidance, love, and stability that a child needs? If you’re at least 18 years old, have a stable source of income, and room in your heart, you may be a perfect match to adopt a waiting child.

Adoptive parents can be single, married, or partnered; experienced or not; renters or homeowners; LGBTQ singles and couples.

The process to adopt a child from foster care requires training, interviews, and home visits to determine if adoption is right for you, and if so, to help connect you with the right child or sibling group.
