Worker injured at Logan Airport
A worker on a de-icing truck was injured at Logan International Airport Friday evening when the bucket of the truck hit the wing of an Alaska Airlines plane, according to a spokesman for the airlines. “We are waiting for an update on his or her condition, and we hope any potential injuries are not severe,’’ Ray Lane, an Alaska Airlines spokesman, said in a statement Saturday morning. The employee was harnessed inside the bucket when the truck came into contact with Flight 769 around 7 p.m. and tipped over, Lane said. None of the 181 passengers aboard the plane were injured.

Tanker carrying gas rolls over on I-95
A tanker truck carrying 11,000 gallons of gasoline rolled over just after midnight Saturday on Interstate 95 south, forcing both sides of the highway to close for several hours, Fire Chief Michael Sullivan said. A hazmat cleanup was conducted for several hours afterward. The truck collided with the jersey barrier near Exit 39 in a crash that involved three cars. The front of the vehicle remained on the southbound side, while the tank flipped over the barrier and onto the northbound side, Sullivan said. No one was seriously hurt, and all drivers involved, including the driver of the truck, refused medical attention. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Lynn man arrested for attacking driver
A Lynn man was arrested Saturday for allegedly attacking an Uber driver in Medford and then stealing his car, Medford police said. Nicholas Fabrizio, 33, was charged with carjacking and assault and battery. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Somerville District Court. Around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, the Uber driver called Medford police to report that he was struggling to control four passengers. The driver pulled over in the area of 343 Salem St. He got out of the car and ordered the passengers to exit the vehicle. Two complied, but Fabrizio allegedly attacked him, jumped into the driver’s seat, and drove off with a female passenger, police said. Based on information provided from the other passengers, police were able to identify Fabrizio and reach him by telephone. He turned himself in to police around 3:45 p.m., Medford police said.

Man arrested after farm store robbery
Authorities say a man armed with a knife robbed the store at a Durham farm, tied up three workers and stole two cars before being arrested at a bus station. Foster’s Daily Democrat reports that 46-year-old Joshua Flynn of Bristol was arrested in Portsmouth on Friday afternoon. Police say in addition to the incident at Emery Farm earlier in the day, he’s also suspected of committing several recent armed robberies. (AP)

R.I. man charged in forklift theft
Florida Keys authorities said a drunken man from Rhode Island stole a forklift and crashed into a gate, telling deputies he lost his car keys and needed something to drive. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that 44-year-old Edward Quinton of Greenwich, R.I., told deputies he was in the Keys helping friends move. Quinton was quoted as saying that after he lost his keys Thursday night, he needed a vehicle and took the forklift from a Marathon marina because he knew how to drive one. He faces drunk-driving, criminal mischief, burglary, and grand theft charges. (AP)

Grants to preserve historic barns
More than $200,000 in matching grants will help restore and maintain 17 historic barns and agricultural buildings, the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation announced. The projects range from repairing a 1933 gambrel-roof horse barn in Underhill to work on an 1830 English barn that is part of a complex of agricultural buildings in Ferrisburgh. (AP)
