The brother of a 24-year-old Weymouth man found shot to death Sunday in a car in Hyde Park said his family is devastated.
“We’re still in shock,’’ Jonnie Brazier of Lowell said Thursday. “This is not something that we wish on any family.’’
James Clermont was found motionless in a vehicle near 36 Williams Ave. around 11:30 a.m., authorities said. Boston police released his name Wednesday.
No arrests have been made. There have been 34 homicides in Boston this year, according to a police spokeswoman.
Clermont leaves a fiancee and three children between the ages of 2 and 6 years old, his brother said. The family launched a GoFundMe page to raise money for the cost of his funeral.
“There are people out in this world who don’t take the time to think about what they do before they do it,’’ Brazier said. “Families always get the short end of the stick.’’
Clermont had studied business management at Bunker Hill Community College and hoped to open a carpentry business, he said. Clermont grew up in Dorchester and enjoyed football, having played as a child for the Hyde Park Cowboys, a Pop Warner team, Brazier said.
“He was a fun-loving son, father, and brother,’’ he said.
Clermont’s children don’t know what happened to their father.
“They’re very young,’’ Brazier said. “The fortunate thing is that they don’t understand so it doesn’t hit them hard.’’
Anyone with information about the homicide is urged to call investigators at 617-343-4470.
