One day after Framingham State University opens a new center for students who have served in the US military, the school will hold an event aimed at beefing up its military history archives. The Veterans Center, set to open in Crocker Annex on Friday, March 23, is intended to give student veterans a support space to study and network with others who have served. At a second event the following day, the public is invited to bring artifacts related to military service to be photographed, scanned, and archived in the college’s digital repository. The state’s Veterans Services secretary, Francisco A. Ureña, will be a guest speaker at the event at the McCarthy Center, to be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24. Attendees are encouraged to bring photographs, letters, postcards, medals, and clothing related to military service.

Musicians Susanne Gerry and Seth Warner will give a blues and Americana show at Natick’s Eliot Church, 45 Eliot St., Sunday, March 25. Gerry and Warner are active soloists, collaborators, and producers from Portland, Maine; as a duo, they’re known as Old Souls. They’ll be performing original songs as well as covers of traditional folk and blues pieces. The concert begins at 3 p.m., and a reception will follow. The suggested donation for the event is $15, with proceeds benefiting the Eliot Church. For more information, visit www.theeliotchurch.org or call 508-653-2244.

Acton Pharmacy will host a free workshop on the use of essential oils, the concentrated versions of the natural oils found in plants, and how they are said to reduce stress and improve wellness as spring approaches. The workshop, to be hosted by wellness advocate Christina Maney, will take place Thursday, March 22, from 7 to 8 p.m. Light refreshments will be served. To register, visit http://bit.ly/2FNEQ2D or call the pharmacy at 978-263-3901, ext. 6.
